In our primary school, Art is a way to reflect the beauty and creativity of God, who is the ultimate artist. Through the process of creating and appreciating art, we are inspired to see the world as a masterpiece, filled with colour, shape, and form that reflects God’s love and goodness. Our Catholic faith encourages us to use our creative talents to glorify God and to express love, joy, and truth through our work.

At St. Peter and Paul’s, we believe every child is an artist; as such, we are committed to empowering all of our pupils to see the value and unique qualities in their own and others’ Art work. Their creativity and the skill that God has placed in their hearts and hands will guide them to create Art that is a special and valuable part of God’s kingdom.

Our Art and design curriculum aims to inspire pupils and develop their confidence to experiment and invent their own works of art. Our scheme is written by experts in their field and designed to give pupils every opportunity to develop their ability, nurture their talent and interests, express their ideas and thoughts about the world, as well as learning about art and artists across cultures and through history. Our scheme supports pupils to meet the National curriculum end of key stage attainment targets.

Our Art Subject Leader is Mrs N Heaton.
