Our school uses the ‘Virtues to Live By’ scheme. This enables us to explore each virtue over a three week period (two per half term) to improve the school community’s virtue literacy and to deepen understanding and appreciation of the essential role the virtues play in the education of the whole person towards human flourishing. The virtues chosen are common across cultures and faiths, but are sourced from the Christian tradition.

These virtues are celebrated and discussed in assembly, and in classes through circle time and meditation. Certificates are presented weekly to pupils who display theses virtues.
We incorporate stories, prayers, and activities that bring these virtues to life, fostering a strong sense of community and shared values.
In addition to our collective worship at school, we encourage families to engage with these virtues at home. By sharing scripture and discussing the virtues together, we strengthen the spiritual bonds within our community. As Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
The “Virtues to Live By” approach is more than just a curriculum; it is a way of life that helps our children grow into compassionate, responsible, and faith-filled individuals. For more information about this approach, please visit Virtues to Live By.
